IRONSTONE GAMES · LEGAL
Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 06, 2025
Ironstone Games ("we", "us", "our") runs the website at ironstonegames.net and our mobile games — together, the "Service". This page explains what information passes through our hands when you play our games or browse our site, what we do with it, and the rights you have over it. By using the Service, you agree to the practices described here.
AT A GLANCE
- What we collect is mostly technical: device details, IP address, and how the Service is used.
- Cookies keep the site working and remember your preferences — your browser lets you refuse them.
- We keep data only as long as we actually need it.
- Our games and site are not aimed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their data.
What we collect
Almost everything we collect arrives automatically while you use the Service ("usage data"). Depending on how you connect, that can include:
- your device's IP address and unique device identifiers;
- the type of device, its operating system, and the browser you use (type and version);
- which pages you visit, when you visit them, and how long you stay;
- crash reports and other diagnostic data;
- anything your browser sends along with its requests.
If we ever ask you directly for information that can identify or contact you, that information is handled under this policy as well.
Cookies and similar technologies
We use a few standard technologies to keep the Service running and understand how it's used:
- Cookies — small files placed on your device that can remember your activity and choices.
- Local stored objects — some features may store preferences locally; these sit outside your browser's normal cookie settings (see Adobe's documentation for managing them).
- Web beacons — tiny files in pages or emails that let us count visits, check whether an email was opened, and gather similar statistics.
Some cookies vanish when you close your browser ("session" cookies); others stay on your device until deleted ("persistent" cookies). We use both, for three jobs:
- Keeping things working — signing you in, securing accounts, and preventing fraud. The Service can't function without these.
- Remembering your choices — like language or login details, so you don't re-enter them every visit.
- Recording your cookie decision — so we don't keep asking whether you accept cookies.
You can set your browser to refuse cookies or flag when one is being sent — just know that parts of the Service may stop working without them.
How we use information
- To run, maintain, and monitor the Service.
- To manage your account and unlock the features registered players get.
- To carry out purchases and any other contract you make with us.
- To reach you — by email, phone, SMS, or push notification — with updates and information about features and services you use, including security notices when needed.
- To tell you about news, offers, and things similar to what you've already bought or asked about, unless you've opted out.
- To handle your requests and questions.
- To analyze usage, spot trends, measure our campaigns, and make the games better.
- To evaluate or complete a merger, sale, or reorganization in which user data is among the transferred assets.
Who we share it with
- Service providers who help us run, analyze, or support the Service, or contact you on our behalf.
- Affiliates — a parent company, subsidiaries, or companies under common control — who must honor this policy.
- Business partners, to offer you certain products, services, or promotions.
- A buyer or successor, in connection with (or during negotiation of) a merger, asset sale, financing, or acquisition of all or part of our business.
- Other players — whatever you post in public areas of the Service is visible to everyone and may travel beyond it.
- Anyone you choose, when you give us your consent.
How long we keep it
Only as long as the purposes on this page require. We hold personal data longer where the law obliges us to, or where it's needed to resolve disputes and enforce our agreements. Usage data generally has a shorter shelf life, unless it's helping us strengthen security or improve the Service, or we're legally required to keep it.
Where it's processed
Your information is processed at our operating offices and wherever the parties who help us process it are located — which may be outside your own state, province, or country, under different data-protection laws. Submitting your information after agreeing to this policy counts as your agreement to those transfers. Wherever your data goes, we take the steps reasonably necessary to make sure it's treated securely and in line with this policy — it won't be transferred to an organization or country unless adequate controls protect it.
When we might disclose it
If we're involved in a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, your personal data may be transferred — we'll give notice before it becomes subject to a different privacy policy. Beyond that, we may disclose personal data in good faith when it's necessary to:
- comply with the law or a valid request from a public authority, such as a court or government agency;
- protect and defend our rights or property;
- prevent or investigate possible wrongdoing connected to the Service;
- protect the personal safety of players or the public; or
- protect against legal liability.
Security
We use commercially reasonable means to protect your personal data — but no transmission over the internet and no method of electronic storage is 100% secure, so we can't promise absolute security.
Children
The Service isn't directed at anyone under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13. If you're a parent or guardian and believe your child has given us personal data, please contact us — if we learn we've collected data from a child under 13 without verified parental consent, we'll remove it from our servers. Where consent is our legal basis and your country requires a parent's consent, we may require it before collecting and using that information.
Links to other places
The Service may link to websites we don't operate. Once you follow such a link you're on someone else's turf — read their privacy policy, because we have no control over (and no responsibility for) their content, policies, or practices.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. New versions are posted on this page with a refreshed "Last updated" date, and for meaningful changes we'll let you know by email and/or a prominent notice on the Service before they take effect. Checking back here periodically is a good habit — changes apply once posted.
